Switch to insulation

Solar Systems

The sun radiates a huge amount of energy to the Earth.  If we could tap just 30 minutes worth it would be enough to meet worldwide energy consumption requirements for an entire year.

HIS Group specialises in installing three types of solar panel technology:

Flat Plate Collectors

Solar heating flat plate collector panels heat water and save energy wastage.

The collectors contain liquid that circulates through panels and is heated by sunlight; this then passes through a coil in the water tank which heats the water in the tank.

Pros:

  • Reduces CO2 emissions on an average domestic system by up to 400kg per year (depending on the fuel being replaced)
  • Easy-to-install and maintain
  • Can easily be integrated with other heating systems to meet the additional hot water requirements during winter.
  • Reduces hot water heating energy costs. Solar hot water can save money, reduce your carbon emissions, and can give you lower dependence on expensive imported energy.

Evacuated Tube Solar Collectors

Evacuated tube solar collectors are amongst the most efficient, but most costly types of solar collectors.

These collectors are best suited for moderate temperature applications. The evacuated tube solar collectors have selective absorbers that collect sunlight energy in vacuum-sealed tubes. Their thermal losses are very low even in cold climates.

Pros:

  • Because of their 360° cylindrical design, evacuated tube solar collectors capture light at many more angles than standard flat solar panels and will still work at full efficiency when the sun is lower in the sky
  • Reduce CO2 emissions on an average domestic system by up to 400kg per year (depending on the fuel being replaced)
  • Easy to install and maintain
  • Simple to integrate with other heating systems to meet additional hot water requirements
  • Reduces hot water heating energy costs. Solar hot water can save money, reduce your carbon emissions and can give you lower energy bills

Solar Photovoltaic

Solar photovoltaic collectors convert the sun's energy to electricity

Pros:

  • Produce energy that contributes to the running of appliances and lighting within the home whilst emitting no greenhouse gases.  Any excess electrical production could be sold back to the network, reducing your energy bills Pros
  • Do not generate greenhouse gases, saving CO2 emissions
  • Grants are available to cover 50% of the installation costs- dramatically reducing the pay-back period
  • Variety of installation options available including on-roof, canopy, façade, sky light and complete roof solutions
  • Over generate your needs allowing you to sell it back to the network http://solarfeedintariff.co.uk/
